Was out looking for a nice piece of pie....a really hard thing to find these days. Dixie Cafe has a number of desserts ( not pie). I was seated and after 5-7 minutes Valerie asked nicely if I had been helped. I was not in her section but she took my order: Diet Coke , Apple Cobbler and Ice cream. Diet Coke was completely flat- replaced from another tap- completely flat ; water was ok. Apple Cobbler was soggy and pasty (microwaved from the fridge) . Valery was apologetic and I was only charged for the ice cream. Never saw whoever was supposed to be serving me, but Valery stepped up- good for her; but the business is a Slacker! This ain't nuttin' like Dixie!!!! Don't think I'll ever stop by again.

Service is always fast and friendly here. I always come here on thanksgiving for the $10 dinner and on New Years day because they give you a free side of black eyed peas. Oh and their unsweet tea is awesome!

You just never know what you're going to get... Last time food was amazing. This time?? Service was fine but the food was terrible. We didn't even finish and ended up grabbing a pizza on the way home. The salad looked like it had been sitting in the dumpster for a day or so and the chicken fried steak had the consistency of the tongue on my leather work shoe. The squash tasted like I was licking the kick plate on my front door, a lot. The pizza was good though, so there is that....

What can be said about Dixie Cafe other than it's a pretty good chain restuarant for down home southern food. Nothing spectacular but nothing bad either. Great Rolls and Cornbread and the Chicken Fried Steak is usually really good. The Fried Corn is a must try.

I've been coming here for 10 years and the food is always great. The chicken tenders with white gravy and the Mac and cheese are the best.
